It's about time somebody stepped up to the plate!
Maybe Americans didn't realize that there are impeachable offenses taking place. Or maybe we are just tired of all the "impeach" crap every time someone in office does something we don't like. (Since the Bill Clinton fiasco. Most Americans don't give a flying fig about what went on under the desk, and don't want to see our country become the laughingstock of the free world, AGAIN!)
I think that it takes a reasonable entity--such as the state of Vermont--to show America that there truly ARE criminal actions being taken by the Administration, and the the "buck stops" on the President's desk!!!

"Why now" is easy - the taxpayers here have been sick of President Bush for a while and when he and his crew started illegally tapping phone calls and reading emails, many felt that was grounds for impeachment because it goes against our rights.
However, a couple weeks ago the Senate told a group striving to push the impeachment vote through that it was a waste of time. Then the head of the senate went on vacation and suddenly the temporary man at the helm came in and said hey let's vote and they did. Funny how that worked out...

I wonder if Vermont ever called for the impeachment of Judge Edward Cashman who sentenced that pedophile to 60 DAYS in prison for molesting that 7 year old girl over a period of 4 years? Maybe they should clean up their own back yard for starters.

Pretty good chance people won't notice 2008 election and think Bush is impeached when his term is over. They can tell people they impeached him. And people will go back to watching American Idol.

I don't know, but it is long overdue. I'm still waiting for them to be put on trial for treason for their crimes on 9/11, but we need a legitimate investigation first. After that there are probably 20 major crimes committed that warrant impeachment and prison.

It's called publicity.
Even if there is not a chance thay are going to say what many Americans want to hear. We think there is a difference between the two parties, but the republicans have historically been the best out of the worse.
They will blow some sh*t up our as*es, And everyone as well, but in reality it will not happen.... Watch. They are just talking some bullcrap that will never happen, but sounds good at the time.

My congressman has written me and said that there is an underlying group of investigations into doing just this. Problem is, as evidence is requested, 5 million emails disappear.

Vermont isn't going to get anywhere with this vote. It's just a headline maker. If you read through the article, even it says that it's unlikely to go any higher up the chain.

If this is for real, please provide a link. It is not easy to impeach a president - they have to have grounds for impeachment, and even if they do it doesn't always go through.
