I used to expect bad things to happen & they did. I didn't believe in myself. I avoided risks because I expected to fail. I expected the worst & made it happen. I was negative & unhappy. Then something happened. I started to believe in myself. I was living in the basement in my parents house. I didn't think I'd ever leave. I thought I'd move out when I got married & after wasting 9 years with the wrong guy I was getting pretty doubtful that marriage was in the cards...then I thought, I don't need a man, I can do it on my own! I wrote in my calendar that I was going to buy a house. I went to the bank & got pre-approved for a mortgage. I found the house of my dreams in a new community. I bought it. It was the scariest most exciting thing I'd ever done. I love my house! It's beautiful & because it was new I got to choose everything all the colours & finishes & I decorated it the way I wanted & I did it all myself. Since moving here my life has changed for the better in many ways. I've become involved in the artistic & musical community here. I've shown my paintings & sold a few. I've been playing my songs (I'm a singer/songwriter guitarist) at a local bar & even became involved in a big event & had my picture on the front page of the paper! I've done a radio interview & am working on a CD. But the best thing to happen is I met a wonderful guy, my soulmate, at the bar where I perform. He's a fellow singer/songwriter. He's a Taurus like me. Very passionate. It's amazing. I've never known anyone like him. The first night I was up on stage & so nervous he yelled out "I'm your biggest fan!" & made me smile & he kept talking with me each time I came out until finally we ended up getting together.
Once I had faith in myself it set the wheels in motion & things just started falling into place: finding my house, moving here, art & music & the love of my life...oh yeah & I got a new job closer to my house as well though I'm not too fond of it. I'm too practical to be a starving artist so I need a day job to pay the mortgage. But I hope one day to make enough money from art & music to be able to quit my joe job. I have faith!
Believe it & achieve it!
Think positive. Thoughts have power. Whatever you think, starts to happen. I spent most of my life being negative & unhappy. Once I became positive & felt better about myself I've found happiness.
Peace out.
:)

Sometimes my faith is like an anchor that seems to drag me down into utter despair. After praying for something for a long time and never getting it despair sets in. Then other times i have a flash of insight into my life and my faith bares me through a tough situation. Faith is sort of like drinking a lot of caffeine...One minute your flying high the next your hitting bottom. The problem with Faith is us. I guess sometimes we put to much Faith in Faith as it were.

If you are not silly, weakminded or foolish enough to gain happiness believing in the fairy tales packaged as "faith" every organized religion tries to force you into believeing then: CONGRATULATIONS! If you are looking for faith to bring you happines, you are going to be taken for a sucker at some point in your life and be a lifelong tool for other powers to use you as they need to advance their own interests.
Happiness comes from persuing your own interests and living the life God (or whatever force gave you conciousness) gave YOU. He/she/it did not give that life to a pope or a minister or a guru or a rabbi or whatever. It was given to you to find your path and find your happiness.
Guidance on that path can come from any source but it cannot come from any source that is pushing its own illogical agenda on you. Listen to your heart, always, but follow the logic of your mind. Listen to the people who care for you and have more life experience (might be hard to do if you are, say, 80) as they all have things to share. However, in all things, be guided by your mind, so when it tells you that something isn't logical or seems to good to be true, heed it.

Faith is a gift from God.It is an unquestioning confidence in the reality of God which cannot be proved on a human level. You either believe in God (no explanation is necessary) or you don't (no explanation is possible) Faith has nothing to do with happiness or any other human emotion.

It is an injustice plain and simple this will be the third time today i have repeated myself. Here goes By Dante's divine comedy someone who has never heard of christianity yet by a million to one chance has done nothing the bible considers a sin and have acted justly and virtuously their entire life they are still punished for not accepting God even if they haven't the slightest clue what 'God' is. So the short answer is No not at all.

No. For me, faith is not an integral part of "happiness."
Faith is merely the "evidence of things not seen." It is basically just hope.
"Happiness" is a state of mind where one feels fulfilled.
If faith does that for you, fine.
For me, it does not.

Okay before we say faith is part of happiness lets understand that happiness is not the kind of happiness when you drink alcohol or when you win a bet.Happiness mostly comes from sharing, faith ,and helping others

I guess it depends on the person. I am a Christian and being a Christian has made me before a more caring and giving person. I can't say it has made me a happier person but, I can say that it has made me more aware of other people's suffering and it gives me the strength to find a way to help people.

No. I do not believe so. Faith can be a wonderful thing, but does not necessarily bring happiness into your life.
It is numerous factors that bring you happiness.
And , what is happiness to one, is not happiness to another.
So this brings about a new question.
...............What makes you happy?????
