I need to know because I have a hold on only one of them. I was told they are different and have different pokemon in each one, but from what I read the seem the same. Perhaps the guy just wanted me to buy both so he'd make more money?

in every single pokemon generation, there was more than one game for a reason.

each game of a singular generation (r/y/b g/s/c r/s/e/f/l d/p) has different pokemon in them, so that you will attempt to trade with other people to get what your version doesn't have

yes, there are generally about 20 offset from each game, where about 20 can only be found in one of the games, and then a different 20 can only be found in the other game. each generation comes out with two games at first, and sometimes a third game comes out to join them, such as yellow, crystal, or emerald

Well I play Pearl and Its OK i assume. If you wish the entire pokemon peral/ diamond expeirence you can ought to play probably the most GBA pokemons (after beating the sport and SEEING all one hundred fifty sinnoh pokemon you'll be able to switch whatever equiped with any object from it to the DS card). If you havent performed given that Blue verion then they will be a complete lot that would shock you prefer a 3D kind overworld, a 4 pace motorbike, no crew rockett, breeding matters (eggs), and a complete bunch of alternative stuf i dont fel like typing.
