Don't believe me? Do a little research. Organizations abound to protect animals, but our children are left to fend for themselves, and are ill-equiped to do that when you factor in a judicial system that fails time and again to prosecute criminals who perpetrate crimes against children, or that refuses to recognize that children are human beings possessing civil rights in the first place; a social service system that does not work in that it all too often criminalizes loving parents and tears functional families apart while exonerating guilty ones for lack of evidence; parental deciet and an inability or unwillingness on the part of children to speak out against abusive parents or caretakers; not to mention overworked underpaid workers who suffer from systematic "burnout" and case overload. Reporting an incident of child abuse rarely ever effectuates results. Loopholes abound between the initial report and an offender being indicted or prosecuted.

I am sick to death of hearing about children murdered at the hands of one or both parents, to find out after the fact that there was long term abuse, sexual or otherwise. This is what this country has come to. How can one person make a difference? What can be done?

I agree 100%! I think ya need a license to drive a car ya should need one to have a kid! It takes more to get a dog at the pound then to adopt a kid from china!
I too am sick of it. While I lived in New York there was a case where the mom took the child to SS and said she was going to kill the child they left the child with the mother and yep she killed the kid. The dad had the child before dying of AIDS. That women in Texas? I never once felt sorry for her! She
chased one down the street! And her hubby should be in Jail too he was told not to let her have anymore kids yet they had four more!
Oh and my cousin was arrested when that nut in North Carolina said a black man stole her car & kids! He fit the pic to a t!

Because liberals value the lives of animal more than they value human lives. Think it is a good thing to kill an unborn child for convience but they call you a murderer if you accidentally kill a deer that ran out in front of your car.

Animals don't have anything to do with this. But you are right as far as children are concerned. We need more money and a better system.
One thing you failed to mention is the harm parents who smoke are causing to their children. In order to protect the health and lives of children, we need to ban smoking in any home or car where children are present.

You're highly misinformed if you think animals have more rights than children. You can pretty much torture an animal to death and get a slap on the wrist. Do that to a kid and it's probably life without parole or even death.
