I've never heard of citrus causing false positives, and even if that's true some lemon juice in your V8 is NOT enough. If you got a positive result more than likely you are pregnant.

YES!!! I had a positive test on Thursday the 19, very faint line so I took another on the 20 and it was very bold. I am not due for monthly untill the 24 so I am scared of taking another because I don't want it to change. I am very shocked and excited and in disbelief all at the same time.

Ok for the record my second child resulted from a false positive. I took a test on Feb. 5th and it said positive. I was waiting to Valentine's Day to tell my hubby. On the 8th I started bleeding, spotting. So the only day after that we were together was on the 14. Thinking that we were already pregnant we used nothing. I went to the doctor's to have all my things and tests done on the 17 and the doctor told me that my pee test came back negative. I went home and cried. About a week later I decided that I would take another test since I had two. It came up positive. I went back to the doctor and this time had a blood test and he said I was wrong you are pregnant. It was when I had the ultrasound because of my low hormone level that we discovered I got pregnant on Valentine's Day. I thought I was due on October 15. My baby was born on November 10 and was one week late. Cheap test had me. I will still use them and then I will buy another.

Take another to prove that lady may be wrong. I have never heard of it.
CONGRATS!!!!!!

Yeah, it's like having a winning lottery ticket.

NO....there are NO false positives, UNLESS you are taking fertility medication such as clomid, etc.

What lady at the pharmacy is this? An actual pharmacist? That is hard to believe. If they were a pharmacy tech, or just a clerk, they shouldn't be giving out that kind of info in a pharmacy.

I hate to sound morbid, but miscarriage is an imminent issue until you reach 14 weeks, so your results could change.

Just make sure you keep taking prenatal vitamins every day.

Good luck, and congratulations!

I tried for 6 years to get pregnant... had given up... then started throwing up like crazy, I had an outdated pregnancy test, it said positive, I was afraid to believe it... went to the pharmacy, got another test, but it was one that would be pick for positive, and purple for neg... those colors are to close, so again, I was afraid that I wasn't REALLY pregnant... went for a third and different sort of test, and the pharmacist said.... "Sweetie, if this one says yes, stop spending your money on tests, and start buying diapers!" She was right! I was!
I don't know about the citrus thing... never heard that, but I think you should take another test, and if it says yes..... Start buying diapers! lol
Good luck to you, and I hope you get your wish!

I'm so happy for you. What I wouldn't do to get a positive test right now. False positives are very rare. If you got a positive then ost likely it is right. A v8 wouldn't have altered that for you. I was happy when I got one with my son, but I was 20 then and I had no doubt that I wouldn't have a problem getting pregnant, and I was right. But now at 28 and ttc for alost two years I'm devasted it hasn't happened. So I know when mI do get those two lines I will be just like you, overjoyed and unable to sleep. Good luck and congrats hon!

i havent heard that myself.best advice is dont go on to the internet trying to find answers cause you will most likley end up reading something that stresses you out and thats not good for you ar your unborn child!!secondly, i will be honest with you the past two months in a row i have had a positive pregnancy test but i havent been pregnant.(they were not evap lines and were coloured and up with in a minute but i wasnt late with af, it was a super early pg test and other brands gave a negitive and both positives were off the same brand of test so i just stay away from them ones!
good luck!!

Those pregnancy tests are 99% accurate. You are to assume pregnancy if positive unless proved otherwise. You are pregnant. If you want to be doubly sure, go to your MD and get the blood test.
