leaving makeup on is bad for your skin. the mascara will break your lashes. the eyeliner will leave your eyes looking icky.

I have always heard that you should never sleep in makeup, however, I have never removed my eye makeup before sleeping. I have had no problems except maybe getting some mascara flaking into my eyes. I hardly wear foundation, so I don't know if that would increase your chances of breaking out if you went to bed without washing that off your face.

If you sleep in your makeup, you're more likely to have breakouts, clogged pores, and mess on your pillow. For some reason, wearing your makeup to bed, seems to speed up that hard/severe look that makeup gives the skin over time. It can also promote eye infections, stuck-together/broken lashes and that horrific "whore of babylon" look in the morning. If you do it once in a while, it shouldn't be an issue, just don't make it a habit.

Mascara and eyeliner (and eyeshadow as well) should not clog the pores on your eyelids, but it is still very unsanitary to leave it on your eyes overnight. Not only does it make it harder to wash off the next morning, but it will dry out your eyelids and even make your eyelash area very tender if you do it repeatedly. Your best bet is to take a minute or two and wash it all off and make sure you put moisturizer on afterwards to keep your sensitive eyelids from drying/flaking.

basically, night time ,that is whan you're sleeping, is the time when your skin opens up the pores to let it breath and so that it can repair cells...this is also why night creams are heavier and more concentrated than day creams becuase the skin wants more from its external environment at night....
when you have make-up on your face it stops the pores from breathing properly and instead of letting in air what it does is suck in the make-up...thus causing clogged pores which does lead to break out...no matter how tired/slepy you are take 2 mins to wash the junk off...

Wash it all off as soon as possible! Otherwise you could wake-up with running mascara, or make-up everywhere.
Once I wore mascara to bed but it was water/run proof and I rubbed it off straight away when I woke up.

You can, however, wear clear mascara to bed 'cause it's just like putting vaseline on your eyelashes. It wont run all over your face.

I think your more prone to also eye infections too because if you rub your eyes with your makeup still on that old mascara gets in your eyes and irritates them (its happened to me ) so i think its good to clean your face before bed . plus who wants raccon eyes in the morning right ??

Yes you will have skin problems and the warmth of the bed will allow for bacteria to form in and around your skin.~~
