I'm quite sure you're referring to a modem not a router. They are two different gadge. Can't use both USB and RJ45 port to get access to internet, it has to be either one. Any additional computers that need to share the internet must be connected to a router, switch or hub. If you real want to save cost, try getting a cross over cable to link the two PCs but check out the available ports on the back of your PC to see if such configuration is possible. Most likely you would used the usb for internet and the RJ45 ports at the cross over function. Note that this configuration only allows one additional PCs any future addon may have to resort to a router.

Regardless of what the above answerers say, if it is a DSL modem with a USB and Ethernet port then you can only use one at a time.
If it is an actual router then you would have more then one ethernet port on it, so I would have to tell you it is not a router. A one port router is the most obserd thing since one port would negate what a router is, basically a internet sharing device and switch for multiple computers.

It is safe to try it out but from my experience (quite vast), modems with only one Ethernet port have a single communication interface which switches automatically from Ethernet to USB.
So it would not allow you to have a consistent connection in most cases.
A small switch (hub) would be the simplest solution.

DSL modems comes with USB&Ethernet interface.
but there s no necassity to connect both at the same time . Any one of this interface is going to provide u what u wanted it.
if u want to share the connection with among other comuputers, connect the dsl modem/router to a swtich so tht u can share the connection ....
I still dont understand y u want to connect USB& Ethernet together....

Farage speaks his mind and is not intimidated by the E.U dodo birds,Galloway on the other hand is a bigot and a pro-Islamic apologist, every time I think of him saying he believed Mohamed ascended into heaven from the top of a mosque in Jerusalem only demonstrates what a deluded liar he is,any fool knows there was no mosque in Jerusalem at the time of the prophets death as Islam did not really appear until 200 plus years after his death. So my answer is a definite no.

If it is a router, maybe. (But probably not.)
If it is just a modem, definitely not.
What model is it?

they might have some sort of splitter, but it is best to go through your internet service, and they will help you work something out. They might have you switch to wireless.
