Berate , mock , insult. . . whatever word you choose , there's no denying that it happens and it happens quite often .

Have you ever seen a Conservative bash an entire sector of the country ?
I wonder if honest Liberals will avoid this question , as I know they don't like to lie .

I think that they do it for the entertainment value.

I've said a thousand times that liberals are among the most bigoted people in the world, and they believe that they're superior to everyone else. Add to that the limo libs in the entertainment industry who for years have been producing movies and TV shows portraying Southern people as buffoons. Liberals, being the lemmings that they are, will always adopt the traits of their leaders and, therefore, the attitudes that lead to this idiotic assumption that Southerners are stupid.

My Take: They attempt to insult those that they believe are "in their pocket". Possibly by trying to insight them to show up at the Polls at Election Time. But we Southerners. ( I are one) Will be there, in force. And show everyone how a real Southerner feels. Thank You, Earnest. For bringing this to my attention.

The South consistently puts their electoral votes toward Conservative (Republican) candidates...you can use the old Mason Dixon line to separate Republicans and Democrats...Just like "Ruth" above me, you can demonize Liberals and make claims they have no morality because they are different. The North actually has a great history regarding the Constitution and the Conservative South seems to want to change it to suit their own religious and personal views with out regard to tradition or history

Good question actually. I have a lot of friends in the south who are against our government no matter what side is in power, but they never seem to vote. We're blind from this... There are actually more democrats in the south, but they are the minority that do not use their rights.

Trust me... In the south there are more ghettos then there are rich pricks. There are a lot of people who would vote democrat if they were to use the right to vote. That is why I think TV networks started to spam that voting is an important option in society.

We live in a nation that thinks that if there is no great canidate.. They vote for no canidate. We must learn to understand that there is politics, and in order to eventually change it over time we must all learn to vote. This is why we were never a democracy... It's because we all never took the chance.

We need to hire those we slightly agree with, and constant bashing will eventually spawn someone we totally agree with. This is our only chance at lasting as Americans, and our only chance at creating peace.

The Liberals know they cannot get the Southern vote with their attack on traditional morals (gay marriage), gun control and anti-war sentiment. We do not all live in ghettos and vote Democratic (or not vote). In fact, Bush took some traditionally Democratic states, and it wasn't because Southerners don't vote, it was because the Dems ran Kerry.

Southerns are typically more religious and put a lot of stock in tradition.

They cannot win without the South, but that doesn't keep them from calling us names (hick, redneck, trailer park, NASCAR--these are all digs I have seen on here).

I will admit to bashing San Francisco, Hollywood, Taxachusetts, and the Northeast. They brought us a total moral slide and Kerry. Oh, and RINO's, too. But that doesn't qualify as a region, does it?

I remember the days of segregation and the civil rights movement. I find it difficult to believe their conservatism and new found loyalty to the republican party is a result of their morality and Christian values. Did you ever hear of Nixon's southern strategy for constructing a new Republican majority.
I do hear the Northeast and California (which is a section of the country all by itself) bashed a lot, If not conservatives, who is doing it?

Liberals love to hate, conservatives love to debate.

I could expound on that theme for the next 10 years but I don't care to at the moment.

Yes. Cons love to bash "northeastern liberals" with such terms and phrases as "Taxachusetts", "Republic of Massachusetts", "RINOs", "tax and spend liberals", and "out of touch with our values."

Barry Goldwater, the father of modern conservatism, once said he wished the northeastern seaboard would fall into the ocean. He said this because back then the Republican Party still had a strong northeastern liberal wing.

Let's not forget the con bashing of California and their favorite target San Fransisco.

I have never heard anyone, liberal or otherwise, berate southerners in over 30 years. Examples?
