There really weren't 'industrial towns' in 1750. the industrial revolution hadn't got under way. Most industries were still cottage industries, i.e people worked at home. Factories etc., didn't begin until the end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century with the invention of machines such as the spinning jenny, mechanical looms etc. The spinning jenny was invented in 1764, but not patented until 1770. By the end of the 1770s over 20,00 were in use in the UK. However, mass industrialisation didn't take place until the early years of the 19th century, the Luddite riots against mechanisation staring in 1811.
