It's going to be tough - I think the Spurs are the biggest threat in the West right now. The Mavs and Suns split the series this year, so that is anyone's guess, but the Mavs have home court advantage. The Spurs are tough. Whoever wins the West owns it all I think.

Since your question is "CAN the suns win one this year? ", i say definitely. WILL they win? Well, i don't know but it's not too unlikely. The biggest road block for them would be san antonio's defense. A lot of people are writing off the Suns in the Western Conference when they face the Mavs, but i think the Suns could beat them in 6 games if they do face Dallas. If i remember correctly, Dallas loss twice in their meetings with Phoenix and don't have a defensive line up to break down Phoenix's run-and-gun in the open court (which will probably occur after every defensive rebound) seeing as how Dallas isn't too great in the offensive rebounding department.

With that being said, the Suns are a great team to watch and the odds are working for them. I see only 2 teams that may give them some trouble and it's the two i just mentioned; but they are good enough to win a series against either one.

Plus, Steve Nash deserves a ring and this is the best year for him to do it because i don't think Phoenix will ever have such a talented starting lineup for a very very long time. It's a shame for MVPs (let alone a 2-time MVP) to not ever be able to win a championship. He seems like a nice, hard-working guy and way too talented; So i hope he doesn't end up like malone and reggie miller.

I don't like the Suns though. In fact, i root against them almost always. I'm a Laker fan, a Bruin fan (obviously because i live in LA and go to UCLA) and i will be hoping Los Angeles upsets Phoenix in the first round with kobe warding off his critics with sensational leadership. It probably won't happen, but i will watch every game of the series to see glimpses of kobe's full talent and maybe find a few bursts of defensive brilliance from the rest of the Lakers because that is really the least they have to do just to stay in the game versus the Suns.

I KNOW YOU PROBABLY HAVE A LOT OF ANSWERS TO READ, BUT I THINK I'M GONNA GIVE YOU SOME LOGICAL INFORMATION!

After hours of long, hard-thought deliberation, I think that the Phoenix Suns will, at last, win a Championship in 2007. They play the Lakers in Round 1, and that is likely to be a sweep. After that, the most crucial series in the whole playoffs will take place. The Spurs-Nuggets (3-6) series is likely to go to 7 games, and that can mean a lot of wear and tear on both teams.

The Nuggets have been flying under the radar for the past couple of weeks, and Iverson might be the key to getting to the next round, but put them up against the Championship-Experienced Spurs and you got yourself a great matchup.

If the Suns get by the winner of that matchup, they will most-likely have to play the Mavs, who are an unbelievably easy team for the Suns to beat.

Then, they go onto The NBA Finals and they can get by pretty much any team in the Eastern Conference this year. They will probably play the Pistons, so don't expect it to be extremely easy, but I think if any team has the energy and talent to go up against the 3 best teams in the league in 3 straight series in a row, it would, indeed, be the Phoenix Suns. Steve Nash & Co. can win with Mike D'Antoni's style of play, and they have proved it!

No. The Suns defense hasn't proven it yet in the playoffs. The Spurs, Rockets, and Mavs play better D then the Suns. Steve Nash is a defensive liability to the team. In the playoffs its about timely scoring and defense. Until the Suns prove it, Mavs all the way.

Definitely... all they have to do is get through san anton. And yes they will because they want it more than anyone else. Now for all the suns haters you need to stop dissing on the suns defense. It may not be the best, but they have a 7 point differential from they're points and their opponent's points.
so ya... way underrated
