I wont stay with any man im afraid of. That alone can be abusive. My Hubby and I have a mutual caring relationship and we both ask each other to do things for each other every now and then. Sometimes of course we have our disagreements and we always talk them through.
No, we dont always agree and it can turn into a debate or fight. But that is very rarely. I have never been threatened, made to fear him or afraid that im going to "get it" from him The moment that happens, i need to take myself and my child away from that environment.
Mutual respect is the key - not fear.

Heck NO! My 1st husband beat me for 12 years. I married at a very young age and back then I thought marriages should last no matter what and that he might outgrow his heavy drinking.
He didn't start the heavy drinking until about a year after we were married. By then we had a child. Then two. He brainwashed me by telling me all of it was my fault---he did it because he loved me so much that it made him so jealous if a man even said "hello" to me, etc. All of it was BULL!
It is not good fearing a husband (boyfriend)----it is PURE HELL!

I think that in relationships, both peoples thoughts and feelings should be respected MUTUALLY, without the threat reprecussions if you don't necessarily feel the same way. The way that your husband treats you is very controlling, and has probably told you that he only does it because he loves you. Hon, that is not love. You are obviously a bright woman. You don't deserve to not have your own opinions for fear that you are going to "get it." There is no reason for a man to EVER put his hands on woman (unless she is threatening his life). Period.

Hell no b*tch. I'm not gonna get it if I don't listen to him. I only do stuff out of being nice but if I don't and he does something negative about it I'd kick his @$$ to the curb.
