Yes knowledge is power because with knowledge and free choice we can avoid mistakes of the past and reason out how to avoid new mistakes. Knowledge also gives us an advantage over people that do not know what we know about a certain situation, condition or upcoming event.
To gain knowledge though and not know how to use it means we simply have data. Data without the ability to analyze and think through the data is useless. Corporations the world over have tons of data - what they lack is the ability to reason and understand what the data means. This is the reason Business Intelligence software is making such a big mark on the market. They want to take the data and siphon through it to determine how to use the data.
Likewise, the Internet has opened up a wealth of knowledge. We can search on almost anything we wish and easily become overwhelmed by the information. Information without understanding or reasoning is also useless.

This is a common expression that hardly means anything anymore. It once did when the capitalist system we live under had many new ideas about to unfold, and many people were enriched by it when their ideas created new corporations.
Since most knowledge you need comes right out of this computer, there is little else needed.
Those with the power don't want you to have it.
The super rich have the power, and they have found ways to conceal themselves nicely and all that the people now focus on are wackos who are more of a distraction than anything else.
So many expressions have fallen by the wayside now....expressions like...
"Believe all that you see and half of what you hear".
I saw big Towers come crashing down, live and in color in my living room.
I now know why they came down.
It has to do with the super rich nobody has access to.
With real power, you can shape world economies to suit yourself and those who are in your elite group.
Yes, my friend, no longer do these expressions mean what they once did.
It's a whole new ballgame now, and this computer has a lot to do with changing things forever.

No amount of knowledge can cure stupidity. However, knowledge can be used to blackmail people and therefore have control over what they do and therefore make you powerful.
If you need a definition of power, there is something called a dictionary.
I'm really sick of these questions that are supposed to "imply" something but we have no idea what is being implied. Are you talking about political power, social fortitude, power over a company, power in a philosophical sense? Blah!

Knowledge is POTENTIAL power. Without application or the ability to communicate it it's meaningless.
