See, I am doing an experiment on how the mass of a ball and the height of an inclined plane affects the distance the ball travels when it goes down an incline. So, my color scheme for the board is cool colors. How can I decorate it? Any ideas?

First, use very simple designs. Complex designs will distract the viewers and get you lower points from the judges. If you are going to use just one board for the entire distance the ball will roll, paint each section of board for that height a single color. For example, if the ball is to start at one foot, two feet, and three feet heights on the board, paint the one foot section (0 to 12") blue, the two foot section ( 12" to 24") green, and the three foot section (24" to 36") purple (or other colors you choose.)
I also recommend you sand the board very carefully so friction won't become an issue, as well as the sides. Paint the sides either the same color as each section of board, or black. Use a pre-mixed paint color so you won't have to worry that you have not properly mixed the colors to make up the colors you have chosen. How do you plan for the ball to stop? You may paint the areas where each height of incline stops the ball a slightly darker, or lighter shade of red, or use yellow, orange, red.
