I would like to know if Yahoo Answers is really checking for questions that donot follow community guidelines. We have an option to vote abuse, but what happens then, or even if a reader blows it off as a person's ignorance and believe the person is emotionally unbalanced, then what happens? Thank you all for your thoughts.

An example would be the 19 yr old person that wanted an at home abortion kit because he got his younger sister pregnant and he did not want his parents to find out- Does this get attention as to whether the person for real or one that is emotionally imbalanced as I stated previously.

I do not think they are doing their due diligence in checking for appropriate questions or answers. When someone is reported they lose their account status for asking or answering. The problem is that they can sign up for another account immediately. I wish they would do more to police the trash that posts garbage questions and the folks that have no life so they answer with more garbage.

Yahoo doesn't read the questions, there is just too many of them
They rely on reports of abuse.
Reports of abuse get you a nasty note and a chance to reply
If you ignore the reply, you lose points.

I don't know if they eventually suspend a frequent violator, I don't think they are equipped for it.

not being a moderator I am unsure of the exact procedure but I have reported people for hate speech and then they had their profiles removed. I have also reported questions for not being questions and those never really had anything done to them....

Try one ! they come up enough and you'll see that the community guidelines have been improved and are scrutinized but they require the community response.

Its an automated system, and it gets abused. If someone reports you, the system automatically deletes what you wrote, and if you get alot of reports your account is automatically deleted. There's no recourse. They don't care. Nice, huh?

I'm not sure. I am not a reporting weenie. I report if :

*Someone is just being cruel
*Someone is plugging their site in a person's answers area
*Someone is being sexually, racially, or otherwise inappropriate
