We spend a lot of time waiting in life... waiting for the bus, waiting to get somewhere, waiting for an appointment etc; Life is too short to be waisted on waiting so you should fill up your waiting with reading. Always have a book with you! (it also makes you look smart!)

Never, life maybe too short, but it is not too short to be spent on reading. Reading is a big part of my life, and this might be because I work with literature on a daily basis. I can remember that when I was sick as a child, my parents would bring me books to read if I was up to it. My parents believed (as do I) that reading is the key to all forms of knowledge. No one person will know everything, but reading does open doors. If you're of the curious turn of mind, reading is the answer.

no way! u might say u'll live a lot more if u actually went out and did things instead of sitting somewhere and reading, but books open up new worlds. each book is like a universe of it's own. as you read, you just get so involved in the story , that it becomes like a part of your life. some of the best experiences in life are those you get from books - those you may never get the chance to go through in real life.

Not at all, Zachary.
I enjoy reading very much. Let me tell you, I also enjoy life. Reading good books, stories, poems, and articles has helped me very much to find my way in life, in the real world.
I have been a paperboy, served food at McDonald's, Subway, several restaurants, been a lifeguard, a nurses' aide or orderly, math tutor, French tutor, landscaper, day laborer, farm hand, migrant fruit picker, dishwasher, bus boy, bar back, gigolo, homeless hobo or "bum," convenience store clerk, artist's model, poet, free-lance writer, travel columnist, kept man, haberdashery sales clerk, music store clerk, historian, artist, performance artist, actor, radio dj, soldier, engineer, police dispatcher, systems engineer, construction worker, salvage engineer, and substitute teacher.
I can comprehend, read, speak, and write in Spanish, English, French, German, Russian, and Arabic. I enjoy good music, good food, good drink, and the most beautiful womyn. I am a father of a lovely lass and a strapping smart lad. I own a house in South Georgia and investments enough not to worry. I love life. And reading is one of the pleasures of life.
Rest assured, you, that learning to read helps to enhance your life experience. Trust me on this one. And I keep living, I keep enjoying la bonne vie, mon jeune homme.

No!! Some people actually ENJOY reading. I love reading. It is not a waste of time. Why would you even think that? A person can learn a lot from reading.

no. i actually think reading expands and intensifies life. it allows you to experience more than you would living just on your own, and it broadens your perspective. reading also allows you to more fully apppreciate your own experiences. i can see how some books would be a waste of time. but in general, hell no. i think life is too short to not read.
