Official borders with Syria and peace talks with Israel. This is the external peace force which should happen.

Now internally they should change the way which each religion take order like for example:
Christian - President
Sunni - PM
This should be change, each 2 years a new president (powerful one) should take the place of the president and all parties inside Lebanon should eliminate the process of "Racism" like for example forget what ever religion you have they should always think that you are Lebanese and only Lebanese. In this way Peace will take place internally and externally.

Well ...it's obvious to all that the present system isn't working so there 's no point witha continuation of the same or even similar.
A true democracy is one that separates religion , the government & the judiciary ...

To appoint people to positions on the basis of religion is not democratic.Parliaments are elected by the people & usually the party with the most votes becomes the government .

So surely they should form the government ......if they don't have enough members to govern in their own right , they negotiate with other elected members until a government with a majority in the parliament is formed .

The duly constituted government then must be respected by all other parties as the authority under the constitution ....that means , no armed militias , no threats of violence on the streets. The only armed force in the country would be the official army under the authority of the elected government

First at all, a real democracy is needed.
That doesnt exist nowadays in Lebanon. Democracy, as the word means is govern from the pple. That means that have to be free elections......no digited ones.....and with politicians chosen by the people also.
No presidents put by "finger" for Syria, and that really loves his country. No puppets needed.
After that.........so much tolerance among lebanese people. A state separate from church. People cant be cataloged according to their believes.
But, the main thing is a state for all the lebanese, not only for some. Nowadays......some lebanese seem to be more lebanese than other ones. They dont pay taxes.......they refuse to pay the services, and they live in a state within another state. Even, they have another flag with weapons in it. that is a shame for Lebanon. You all know who i'm talking about. If they want freedom and equality, they have to start giving the example..
No more weapons........no more privileges.....and not more orders from foreigner countries .
In other words.........no more Hezbollah inside Lebanon.
Then......to sit and talk calmy and as civilizated pple with the countries that have some problem with Lebanon. To talk doesnt mean to give the country for others....only means to try to live in peace and make other countries to respect Lebanon, for its democracy.

I have read the question about how to achieve a long lasting one in many other places. I will answer the question again.

Both parties have been trying to attain it since long but now that nothing is happening, they are both failing, the thing that can only lead to frustration.

You are right, achieving one lasting one is better than several minor ones. I think the key is to "hold" till you feel the ONE coming. It takes patience.

I think psychology plays a huge (no pun intended) role. Basically what should be done is that both parties relax and just be themselves.

Alcohol especially have a bad effect. Smoking too. Exercise is greatly important.

Hope this helps. (pasted from the clipboard)

I am not qualified to fully answer this question nor do I have the knowledge to do so. However, I know that peace with Israel could be achieved in days, if not hours, if Hizbullah and other terrorist groups (militants, if you prefer) operating from within Lebanon put an end to their pursuits towards destroying Israel.

Have all Lebanese take anthropology courses explaining the meaning of cultural relativism and ethnocentricm. There's a hope they'll become a bit more tolerant. It will also boost my career LOL.
