Why did Michael Bay approve of flames on him?, c'mon thats too much, flames only belong on Hot Rod & Rodimus Prime, apparently Michael Bay doesn't know Transformers as much as the true fans do, what do you people think?, do any of you dissaprove of what Michael Bay has done with Transformers?

Extremely disappointed.

My favorite cartoon was always Transformers and when i heard they were making a movie out of it, i was stoked! Then the images started coming out and the excitement slowly disappeared. The robots look like a mix of Aliens with General Grievous from Star Wars. You can barely tell their facial features. And the flames on Prime.....yea, that was just cheezy. I can understand changing up a few things for the movie, but some things you just need to leave alone and keep original. I think Soundwave should have been in it as well and .........geez, i really can't stand their faces.

Optimus Prime Flames

Michael Bay is only putting flames on Optimus for one reason.

Merchandise.

If Optimus has flames on him then that will translate into a shiny colorful toy and little kids will throw tantrums to get it. So the father reluctantly buys it even though he is a die hard 80's Transformers fan and the kid plays with it for 20 minutes then gets bored and craps in his sister's doll house.

You see it is all a marketing ploy. It tricks you into buying the crappily revised Optimus and the stupid Dora the Explorer doll house.

Yeah! Why DOES he have flames. In the cartoons he was authoritative figure, a rational leader. He shouldn't HAVE a frickin' paint job. It'd actually be more reasonable for him have generic company's name on his side, with a well-worn body.

I wanted to see the movie until I heard who else was had a hand in making it . . . that's too bad, 'cuz Michael Bay's stuff is, how shall I put it? . . . spectacular. XD

It actually doesn't look bad to me. Trucks sometimes have graphics on them, so it isn't like it's unheard of.

If one thinks of flames in terms of speed (a "hot rod") then, yeah, it is kind of dumb to put them on a rig.

But, Optimus Prime isn't just a rig. For all we know, a real OP could do 200 mph! Just because it looks like a rig, doesn't mean it is. Robots in disguise, you know. So, it's possible a robot could do 200 mph.

Superman looks like an ordinary man, but he isn't and he can do 200 mph!

I'm not saying Optimus Prime will do that speed. I'd like to think he couldn't, but there's no good reason why he couldn't, except to say that the robots take on the limitations of their disguised selves. But, even that really doesn't stand up to logic, as far as these things go.

In any case, in his robot form, the flames look pretty cool to me.

So, I approve.

I think its a really good idea...why?...Because the autobots are tying to be inconspicuous. I have seen a load of big rigs with flames in the cab...at least he isnt sporting the Green Goblins' head, like in "Maximum Overdrive"
