i have heard i can download the software,but how?

Check your laptop manufacturer's web page. They should have all of the drivers you need available.

search the internet. First try with just a word "driver software". You will get thousands of web sites. Now modify your search to narrow it down by mentioning your items. You can download it from the manufacturer's website also. Its not very difficult.

Contact the Company that makes your laptop and ask them to send a new disk. Tell them your situation. There can be a small charge depending on the company. Some laptops divide the laptop hard drive into two parts the one for storing recovery information. Check with the company and they can walk you through this if it is provided.

if you have a net connection(your here arn't you?)then start looking up the manuracture's web sites, they should have drivers available, in most cases, they are probably better drivers than what you had on the disk!

and by the way... it is laptop... not lab top....
