just a series of random occurrences

In the time of my confession, in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed
There's a dyin' voice within me reaching out somewhere,
Toiling in the danger and in the morals of despair.

Don't have the inclination to look back on any mistake,
Like Cain, I now behold this chain of events that I must break.
In the fury of the moment I can see the Master's hand
In every leaf that trembles, in every grain of sand.

Oh, the flowers of indulgence and the weeds of yesteryear,
Like criminals, they have choked the breath of conscience and good cheer.
The sun beat down upon the steps of time to light the way
To ease the pain of idleness and the memory of decay.

I gaze into the doorway of temptation's angry flame
And every time I pass that way I always hear my name.
Then onward in my journey I come to understand
That every hair is numbered like every grain of sand.

I have gone from rags to riches in the sorrow of the night
In the violence of a summer's dream, in the chill of a wintry light,
In the bitter dance of loneliness fading into space,
In the broken mirror of innocence on each forgotten face.

I hear the ancient footsteps like the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there's someone there, other times it's only me.
I am hanging in the balance of the reality of man
Like every sparrow falling, like every grain of sand.

I believe in fate, but I also believe that some things happen in our lives because of the choices we make.

If you think that your life has a pre-destined direction.. you are dreaming.. God did not program your life.. you program it.. are there circumstances that can happen to your good fortune? yes. Are there circumstances that can happen to your misfortune? Yes.. mostly because of the way you live your life and what kind of world you put together for yourself..and the people whom you have in that world.. accidents happen.. so do stumbles upon good fortune.. but as I said.. most of the things that happen unexpectedly are by happenstance.. for the most part.. you are responsible for what happens.. good or bad.. so pay attention and live well..

I would say its controlled by God. Although we make the choices that ultimately lead to the occurrences that happen, I think that He determines our final outcome.

I believe it's Life, and life is a train.

You just follow it, where ever it takes you; the mistakes in your life, the choices, wether you have plans (of your own) to perform in life, Life decides what you're going to do. And you never know when the Trail is going to end, and if it's really going to take you to the places you want to go.

Not necessarily all the seconds, but the most important facts of our lives, I believe, are determined even before our births...

I did believe everything was random, but sometimes things happen that just fit perfectly. I don't think our lives are pre ordained by any god, but I do think that sometimes your intuition leads you down the right path...
