not long. im pretty straightforward about my feelings, whatever they may be. however i know that sometimes you must stay quiet. but there are those overwhelming feelings that you just have to tell. i dont kid around with my feelings. they must be respected.

It would have to continue for maybe a week. I enjoy silence. it is a peaceful time to reflect and just think. When you don't get a lot of time of silence then, you try to take the time you do get for all it's worth.

There is never complete silence. I tend to get overwhelmed by excessive noise.

I was sitting downstage left with the cue headset on an hour before the show. It had been a particularly busy week. I was just relaxing. Seeing me, Mike Love came over, and, knowing there wasn't anyone on yet. asked me what I was listening to. A little surprised, I explained that, although The Beach Boys were one of my favorite groups, and I was really looking forward to hearing him tonight, there had been a lot of concerts that week and that sometimes I just need to hear the sound of nothing. "WAIT RIGHT THERE" he commanded. "I have to bring my wife over to have you explain it to her because she can't seem to get what I'm talking about"...Silence is golden to me. If i ever want to break it I'm able to do a mental playback in my head of anything I want to listen to.
