And so, we have Australia reclaiming their crown, proving without a doubt that they are the World Champions!
Playing the innings of a lifetime, the captain Ricky Ponting guided his team to a convincing victory, in great display of how to play the game. It was probably one of the best games of cricket we have seen in a long time. Records tumbled, and the team just went from strength to strength, building a huge total of 359, that probably suprised even them a little by the end.
The Indian cricket captain Ganguly said later: "Hats off to them. They played like great champions."
Unfortunately, it was a bad day for the bowlers, who just couldn't get it right. Srinath, Zaheer and Nehra, who had all had some brilliant spells during the tournament were tortured by the Australian batsmen. There was no one who was spared. It was only Harbhajan Singh who could manage to get two wickets.
Peter Roebuck writes here about how the Aussies were aided by India's feeble bowling performance. Ganguly who was banking on his bowlers to contain the batsmen, but that did not happen yesterday.
The world's fastest bowler never even got to take aim at the world's greatest batsman. Earlier named Man of the Tournament, didn't fire on the crucial day. "One off day cost us dearly," says Tendulkar.
India's off-day turned into an occasion where everything went right for the Aussies. From their batting, bowling to their sharp fielding, they couldn't have looked better. They were definitely saving the best for the last!

kangroos (australia) won the wc of 2003 by beating india and the higest run scorer for the final match was ricky ponting 159 not out and he also set the record of higest runs in wc in the final match and i wanat to tell u another record that keneya became the only team who has not played any test match and entered in semifinal of wc 2003
