light gives us energy,,
thus it can be classified as a nutrient,,as other nutrients also give us energy,,

but,,
light is used as a catalyst in many reactions,,
which(the reaction) leads to other nutrients,,
like photosynthesis leads to vitamin D,,and uses light as a catalyst,,

so,,what do u say abt it??

no, light cannot be classified as a nutrient. Your comparing humans to plants, and we cannot photosynthesize. Also light does not give us energy, it only tricks are brain into thinking we should be awake.

Light is not a nutrient. It is only a source of energy. It doesn't qualify as a catalyst because it is used up. That is how I understand and use the words.

Technically speaking light is not a nutrient. Dont confuse yourself by combining philosophy and biology. We human beings cannot use light for energy not till now but we may be able to use it with some modifications to our body. Presently we dont have knowledge of how to do it. So in future light may become a nutrient.

NO NO no no. Who ever told you that light gives us energy? Light possesses energy, which is converted into chemical potential energy during the process of photosynthesis. I you argue like that, electricity is also a nutrient, because it has energy.

I think that light would not be considered to be a nutrient because it is a form of energy. Nutrients are molecular.

light is a defferent form of energy which increases our efficiency........we take this light enrgy by eating plants which they store it in them...........ultimately the solar energy(comprising of heat as well as light energy)enters into our body which is the only source of all enargy..........all the nutrients are developed in the plant body using this form of energy which in turn helps us to carry out all the activities..

In direct daylight (high intensity) for the duration of day hours expense of photosynthesis is increased at the same time as in diffused light (low intensity) for the duration of morning & evening hours the price of photosynthesis is lowered.
