Ok lets forget about the "dangerous" part.
What the hell is wrong with people now-a-days?
What happened to meeting someone at a bar, at the mall, at a party etc . . .
Lets get off your butts people and go out and get some fresh air, and this way . . . you REALLY know what the person looks like!
And if your not going to listen to my advice and meet people from other resources, bring someone with you, for the whole date. Someone can be all nice and perfect in front of you and your friend, and the second your friend leaves, your in a body bag...

Stay away from chat rooms, you DON'T know what you are dealing with meet people at church in coffee houses and single events at hobbie and interests group.
NEVER meet a person you dont know in a private place be in the open like starbucks or your families house or even church or Borders places like that. There are fedefiles and preators in these chat rooms.
Be careful of wolves in sheeps clothing

Be really careful about that. As much as you may trust him/her, they might not be the person they're saying they are. I would wait at least 6 months. Make sure you guys webcam chat, talk on the phone, etc. before you meet in person.

Depends on the situation. If you're an adult, arrange to meet at a mall or other public place. Let other person arrive first so you can scope out the situation. I would wait at least a couple of months.

Until you are at least 21 years of age. Kids should never meet someone they meet in a chat room. Adults should use proper caution.

Be careful, use your gut instinct...my mum met one of her best friends off the net and a total nut case. If you are going to meet someone talk to them on webcam and the phone first just to gain trust....take someone with you just in case

i think you are crazy!!! if the person makes you want to meet them that badly, a group date is the only way to go. better to be safe than sorry. you cant trust everyone, and theres just too much bad stuff happening every day.
