Actually, if you look at nature from a design point, it's far from perfect. If you assume that nature is the result of intelligent design, then, you would conclude that the designer learned as he went along, and was working within constraints of time and budget. I think if the religious people who promote Intelligent Design though it through, they'd realize that they are proposing the existence of a demiurge, not a supreme being.

Evidence of less than perfect design includes:
• Examples of adaptive reuse, such as male nipples and other vestigial organs.
• Sub-optimal designs, such as human knees and spine.
• Instances of re-invention, sometimes inferior to older designs.
For example, the retinas of cephalopods have the neurons connected to the rear of the sensing cells, a design that is more efficient than the retinas of vertebrates and eliminates the blind spot.

All of these things can be explained by assuming evolutionary development through natural selection, without dissing anyone's god. That's why the theory of evolution is so widely accepted.

From the dawn of creation, intelligence and intelligent creatures have been at work. Not only that but also they have been improving in a forward and advance direction, more like growing, learning and getting better ( Scientists call it EVOLUTION ). Specially humans, see how smart we are. That's why humans have survived for thousands of years and will survive more ( later may be we can survive Hell too ).
Just watch the Discovery channel or the TLC, and try to learn about the DNA of humans and other living things. It will make it very easy for one to understand that the intelligence has been working hard for eons and it is trying to reach perfection.
It is not the matter of believing in God, but looking around you and feeling the intelligence in yourself and many other things even the bacteria. Believing in God or some super power creator is comforting and there ain't nothing wrong in thinking that a perfect super intelligent Creator made us and the world too. At least whoever did it, did it for the good purpose and not for the bad, one of the good purposes is for any person to feel, understand, and experience all the things that happens in his/her life . Now what the atheists are missing is that very part of the intelligent I spoke of ( or lack of analysis of nature ) which is very easy to understand but they just don't want to because there may come some guilt with it or for some other reasons. Or maybe they take the easy way out and can not handle the existence of God.
Well the world may not be perfect but it is running and moving on some sort of Order which is undoubtedly based on some mathematical model.
Everything that is in existence now, the universe, galaxies, stars, solar systems, our solar system, the earth and life on earth is full of intelligence and we are surrounded by smart energies. Any single living thing is full of energy, and not only he gives energy but also receives energy. That's why we have understanding and also action and reaction.
Sorry guys I'm talking too much. I feel like a bird, ...
So, what one should do ? Nothing, just relax and enjoy life
now that we have it and be happy, active and positive.

But one last important thing, and that is: there are some people who truly beleive in God ( that super perfect intelligent creator ) based on religion, science or whatever, and there are some people who do not believe in any type of creator based on their own reason. The beauty of it is that either way both groups were not available at the time of creation to see what happened or how it happened. So one can claim there is God and one can denounce it. And as humans we are free to think what we want, BUT that doesn't change the fact that there is a God or not.
But also that doesn't mean in the future we smart humans with our smart machines can not come up with some scientific solution to prove that there was an intelligent creator at the beginning who created all of this. And how beautiful this world is with its nature and its peoples.

Not everything is put together perfectly. We ourselves are very imperfect.
We have enough scientific evidence to claim that there is NO need for "intelligent design".In science, a theory is tested again and again before it becomes a law and is accepted. It can be tested with the use of the scientific method by anyone. However, the presence of a creator cannot be tested. Nobody will denounce that a higher power exists, because we can neither confirm nor deny it.

1. Nothing is perfect, just look at all the horrible stuff that happens just here on Earth.
2. We need evidence, and so far I haven't seen anything convincing, although someday I hope we'll know what created the universe.

there is only one perfection in our whole entire universe: it is perfect to not be perfect. since nothing is perfect, then that's perfection to not be perfect. that's how god made us. why have everything perfect if nothing will happen at all. there would be no asteroids to collide into other asteroids to create planets, there would be no rebirths of suns, there will be no progression of absolutely anything in the whole entire universe if everything was perfect.

depends on what you call perfect. it can be perfect or total turmoil. we dont have the intellect to comprehend any of it, being it spiritual or physical, tho both do exist. out of fear of the unknown, we try to rationalize.
