Besides Espen Knutsen there is also Patrick Thoresen from the Edmonton Oilers who is Norwegian. I also found on the internet that Anders Myrvold (NY Islanders) or Tore Vikingstad (St. Louis) played in the NHL this year and are from Norway too. Norway has not had a great record playing in international hockey, so that is probably the biggest reason why their is not many.

There have been. Espen Knutsen was the best one that I can recall. The reason there are not very many right now, though, is simply because there aren't any Norwegian players that are good enough. You'd think they'd be have more considering their location, but frankly, their hockey program leaves a lot to be desired. Just look at their international record! That is why they don't have any.

Patrick Thoresen of the Edmonton Oilers and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen of the Columbus Blue Jackets are Norwegian. By the way, it's "Why" not "how come."
