I have bought a newly painted canves and have to frame it my self. Do i have to spray painting with some sort of seal.

Modern paints are pretty stable and don't have such a great tendency to fade over time. You didn't mention what you were using..oils or acrylics.

I can tell you what I do... for my oil paintings I used a half and half mixture of Beckers Semi-gloss varnish and linseed oil. The result is a satin finish.

I also used just straight linseed oil on some my oil paintings on masonite. Very shiny and juicy... and sometimes I like that a lot. It depends on the image and what you are trying to comunicate.

You can also get a spray can of fixative in matt or gloss. Use the permanent sort and not the "workable" fixative.
