I would be very surprised if anyone actually wrote to old friends or family... besides cards... doesn't everyone mostly use email?

Not usually, but I have an old friend that doesn't leave near me anymore, so we write letters. In fact, I've only emailed her once, for the past 8 years we've written letters.

I also write to my grandparents, and send out birthday/anniversary/christmas/easter cards.

I love to send notes to friends and family. I still email them too. I guess the reason I still use snail mail is b/c I LOVE getting notes and cards in the mail- it's always bills, bills, mailer, bills.. but when you get a note or card it's wonderful! It brightens my day, I know they appreciate the thought as well.

I love writing and receiving letters!! I usually write my letters with a fountain pen on vellum. There's something about writing to the people I care about with the weight of the pen, the feel of the nib writing across the vellum and the flow of the ink that feels so intimate, so personal in comparison to typing words clickety-clack on a keyboard. It's one of my small pleasures in life.

I still write letters, I think it's much more personal than e-mail sometimes.

Ah no I have had several penpals for years, I met them through school and kept in touch after I moved. But you can also find penpals on internet sites.

Not everyone has a computer, so yes, some of us still use the postal service.
