first go to apple.com and download the softwear while the ipod is plugged in. Register the ipod, you can also name the ipod. then it will show itunes. you can import cds on to your ipod by putting the cd in in the place where the cd rom goes on in the computer and then it will say do you want to inport the cd. or you can buy them from itunes, you would have to click on itunes store when itunes first appears. you will first have to make an account for apple. you will have to put your credit card information , b-day, e-mail address,and more. after you make the account you can buy songs. you can find songs by going to power search and you type in the song name and or artist name and it will show videos and songs and albums. You can also buy tv shows, music videos and movies. But it depends on what ipod you have. You can only buy tv shows, music videos and movies with a video ipod. with a video ipod you can also put pictures on it. With a nano you can only put songs on pictures on it. First u have to download a software like limewrie or itunes. Limewire is free but itunes u have to buy each song for 1.00 i think. After u get the music u add them into ur music library. Connect ur ipod into a usb connection, and ur music should download atoumatically

go to Apple website download itunes
put your song in the library
plug in the ipod and drag the song to it

Read the simple instructions that came with your new iPod that you got today! Unless you bought it from someone who stole it, then it would have come with instructions. Instructions that you can read and we can not. If it didn't come with instructions, then take it back. Something is amiss. :-)

if it is in wondows media player...go to iTunes and go to file and click add folder to library...then click whatever u want on ur iPod!!!
