i want a new laptop but my old one, a dell inspiron 1200 is still working..is there any way to exchange for a new dell and pay the difference? also i have all of my pictures and my itunes music on this notebook. is there any way to save and transfer to a new laptop?

Dell doesn't take trade-ins.

Sell your PC and buy a new one.

Yah, you should be able to move your stuff over. I would probably just get a new one at this point if it is about 2 years old. You could get ane external hard drive to help you transfer your stuff over. Once you are done with it, you can use to back up your new laptop. Anyway, Dell does not accept trade ins, and selling the laptop might be a big hassle because you should wipe the hard drive before you sell it...hope this helps and good luck
