Many many women miscarry in the first few weeks and do not even know it. If it is that early, there is no reason to be concerned. If you are having pain and cramps and/or severe bleeding see a doctor.

First of all sweetie, when women experience heavier, clotted periods when normally your periods are light, or normal heavy then ending light,, it could definitly mean that you miscarried.. You have probably miscarried more times than you know.. Especially if you dont have any children yet.. Your body isnt used to being pregnant so it will do all it can to fight it off.. Chances are it wins and you miscarry... Happens to many women if not all Unless they are sterile..(not able to reproduce) If you have your next period and its still not normal i would make an appt. to see your OB doc just to find out why your experiencing irregular periods...
Oh, another peice of advice,,, birth control isnt 100% effective.. My sister, and atleast 4 of my friends have all gotten pregnant while on BC.. So if you dont want to be pregnant then use other methods as well!
How long have u been on birthcontrol?? B/c if youve changed it, or havent been taking it everyday, or if you just started taking birth control recently it could have just been your body trying to regulate...
Good luck! Hope this little bit of info helped!

It sounds like you are having some spotting with ovulation. It is common. If it's more than spotting, you may just be having an irregular cycle length. If you think there is a possibility you are pregnant, you could take a pregnancy test, but count back to intercourse to make sure you would be far enough for the test to be accurate. If you are miscarrying in the first trimester, there is nothing you can do to stop it. Nothing. So unless you feel you are bleeding heavy enough to cause medical problems, then just wait it out if you want to.

Or.... here's a thought.... call your gynecologist.

Having had 2 before it can vary depending upon the situation. Miscarriage blood is bright red and looks different.. gross but kinda fresh not old, brown, or dark like regular period blood. Its possible that you are irregular with your cycles because hormones( esp. from birth control) wreak havoc upon your body. Its very possible that you are just adjusting to the pill and not preggers.

I won't say the call the obgyn thing cause that's kinda obvious but I hope this helps

Ummm...why not see a doctor about it? You'll get a better answer than asking a bunch of strangers over the internet.
