Student role models - namely jocks and rappers - don't.
Teachers are held to a higher standard for far less pay. Like that makes sense.

It the offense occurred since the time the teacher became a teacher then yes they should lose the job. If it happened while the teacher was still in school, say high school, then probably not if it was very minor and only one time.

I think it depends on when the drug offense happened, but for the most part my answer is yes. But then again if someone was 50 and a teacher and way back More than 25 years ago they were caught smoking weed in a dorm room then no because they have matured and changed probably. If they still smoke then yes they should be fired!

Yes. Being entrusted with children is an honor and an awesome responsibility. Any illegal drug use is not minor, will become common knowledge, and harms the school in the eyes of the community.

Only if politicians, doctors, lawyers, and engineers lose their jobs for the same minor drug offenses.

Yes. A teacher in our town did. He was a good teacher - but you can't have people working with children who are not in control of their personal life to the extent of using drugs and being arrested.

IF the offense has anything to do with drugs, then anyone in any profession should be fired. The only thing we need Zero Tolerance against is drug useage.

No, I think they need minor drugs to put up with the kids. They should get a raise for that.
