I'm not sure if any of you actually got a chance to view this movie, but Wil Smith, and his son did an awesome job! It's a very poignant story of one man's rise from rags to riches. I don't think this movie received an oscar, but it should have! This is actually based on a true story! ( ^ _ ^ )

oh i just saw it last week and loved it - such a great movie about a father's struggle rather than the standard mother's struggle to raise her kids
i lost it too when they were in the washroom in the subway station and then again when he got hit by the car. I would have just laid on the street without my shoe and cried and cried. I'm actually going out to buy the book tomorrow :)

I really didn't enjoy this movie. The lead character was totally selfish and obsessed by greed. He NEVER said thank you, was rude and disrespectful and put his own needs ahead of his wife's and son's.
This movie seemed to champion everything that is corrupt with modern society.
Yeah, good on him for succeeding - for pulling himself up out of the gutter. But he put himself there in the first place.
And why do you have to be rich anyway? Living a rich life should have nothing to do with money.
And, by the way, what is the significance of the misspelt 'Happyness'. I know it appears on the daycare's sign outside, but it doesn't seem relevant to the overall movie plot to have spelled the word incorrectly. This just annoys me even more.

The best film of 2006, in my humble opinion. I love Will Smith, he's a very fine actor and and an equally fine human being.

I saw that movie 2 weeks ago, it was so GOOD! I almost cried when Will Smith and his son had to sleep on the bathroom floor. Damn, talk about a tear-jerker!

It was a good story... but if you noticed he had a rolex watch on... u woulda thought he woulda sold it for money... but yea it was good... and will smiths son is adorable.
