Don't cha just love that premise from the gun grabbing left? "But gun control is about keeping them out of the hands of criminals...."
LOL. Puh-Lez. Complete and utter lunacy.

In a perfect world, there shouldn't be guns at all, no hunger, and no poverty, etc. It's just top of the food chain as far as everyday weapons go. A great parallel would be the whole giving condoms to kids issue, another evil necessity, prenups being another...lol.
If it were up to me, I would have it where those that want guns would have to have them installed on their foreheads. That way they wouldn't be concealed, and only the people that felt they needed protection that badly, would really be desperate enough to go through this transformation. So those that just want guns cause they are toys and like shooting, would have to genuinely need protection that bad. Before you say i'm a nut case, remember this is just an imaginative idea, like science fiction. Think of it as the NRA crossed with the book, The Scarlet Letter.
Actually I have a better idea. Assuming both sides are against it, but most likely are running their mouths off without trying to actually figure something out, let's put them all on a "I Love Lucy" conveyor belt. It'll be running and when they come to the end of it, they get shot. If they eventually come to an agreement, the conveyor turns off. The faster they come up with a solution, the more of them will survive.
I am neither for, nor against it. Guns exist, and realistically will never go away. There are some cases where the gun laws had stopped citizens from defending their families in public places. It is a hard subject to tackle, and more so when each side thinks its right and the other is completely wrong.
Sorry, but this whole thing pisses me off. If a child is murdered by a sexual predator, there aren't two sides where one side just says, "Ooh, this is too hard and complex to come up with a solution...Oh well whatever, maybe if a few more children are victimized." Every freakin' person goes out combing vast areas searching for the child continuously without rest. Why does there have to be "opposing sides" when it comes to subjects like this? Is it the same regarding sexual crimes against children? Is there a lobbyist for NAMBLA paying someone off? Do either the Republicans or Democrats oppose Megan's Law? How close to home does it have to hit for lawmakers to get off their asses, stop taking sides, and try to improve things. Instead of stating the impossible and the negative, tell us what is possible. Otherwise get rid of the dead weight, step aside, and let someone else who actually cares enough to compromise take your place.

gun control is dumb. A typical shortsighted liberal approach to a problem.
It just ensures that law abiding people cannot get guns, makes law abiding people more helpless, and guarantees that the criminals will get the best guns (because the black market smuggles AK-47s, not 22 pistols)
I cannot believe that people actually think increased gun control works.

you could probably search for an example of gun control laws actually keeping guns out of the hands of criminals but you will NEVER find one. People who want gun control really want gun bans. They want guns to be completely illegal.

This has never happened and never will. The law only keeps law abiding citizens from protecting themselves. This is stupid. We all need to speak up for the rights our constitution gave us, "The right to bear arms". Seems like all our rights are being taken away from us. Don't know what this country is coming to, but I 'm glad I won't be here to see it go to hell. You can no longer go to the Dr. of your choice, get the med. prescribed,,(you have to get a generic) or have tests done if ordered by your Dr. This Gov. is turning Comunist.

Gun control keeps the innocent home owner from protecting themselves and their family. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. That is why our forefathers set the constitution and our "bill or rights" up the way they did. Lawyers harm people more than guns do, and they rape our Constitution, daily.

Criminals do not care what laws they break. More laws sure aren't going to make any difference to them.
