Unfortunately Stacey a lot of people don't want advice. They may think they do, but if the advice is not what they want to hear it usually has a negative effect.
Remember the adage 'don't kill the messenger' ? they did it to JC and people continue to do it today.

This is a very good question. I tend to feel this way at times too.
The trick is you have to be very secure in yourself. Just b/c others are not responsive or are not friendly has nothing to do with you. What's happening is the people that you are encountering are not happy themselves; perhaps the smile you give them or the nice word (though they seem to be bothered) helped them in some way. So don't stop being nice, you don't want to become like them. Just go on with your life and be thankful that you are happy and polite enough to smile and speak to others.

I know how you feel. This actually happened to me today. I guess you should think about their issues. It's probably not you - It may be that they had a bad day or just feel like crap. If you really feel that you're the root of their bitterness, check your conscience. Ask yourself weather you've done anything to hurt them or said anything bad about them behind their backs. I don't know you well enough to name your faults but you do know yourself. Maybe you can find a way to socially modify yourself? It's most likely that something bad happened to them. Don't worry. You've still got friends.

Yes, that is why I now just listen to people but never give advice.
To deal with this I just talk to family and real friends who dont cause stress or drama. I also go to a gym to deal with the stress, great way to get in shape trust me.

Yes. I wait until tomorrow when I wake up, I feel as if nothing happened yesterday ;) But you gotta understand, when you're trying to talk to a person whose mind is preoccupied by something that bothers them, just give them time. They appreciate it but they might not have expressed it right on time

I just tell them how I feel. This girl is so mean to me, because I give her this really nice compliment, and I get a slap in the face in return!
Once, she was like, "Do I have a unibrow?" and to be nice of course I answered no.
But what answer do I get in return? She goes, "Well, you sorta do." I do not have a unibrow, I wax all the time! And it made me feel unipreciated for the nice compliment I gave her.

I just think fine if they don't want to today and leave it and try to be friendly the next day. I have had so many of those

well, if there is something that is on you that looks gross, than they don't want to stare at you. Other than that, you either did something very recent to that that pissed them off or they just don't feel like talking at the moment. If it looks like they don't feel like talking, than simply stop talking. Later on in the day you can call them or IM them or whatever. Even if it is simply your crappy day, you still have to stop talking to them because you are annoying them. The End

All the time dear. Sometimes I think people in my real life DO hate me for no obvious reason (except for my parents and 1-2 close friends) and I've resigned myself to it.
