are you able to sue someone that took up fundraising in your son's name and never gave you receipts for how much money there was. She took his money for a headstone and spent it on herself by taking a trip to Walt Disney World. What should I do?

There is a whole host of charges that could be brought against this person. There is fraud and theft to start out with.

I would call the local police department first and then every media outlet you can. The police will sort out the mess and bring on the charges while the media outlets may bring you help in getting your son a headstone.

File a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in your state.

Depending on your state, it may be easier if you contact your local police or sheriff's office.

I suppose you could try, but the burden of proof would lie on you. You would have to show proof to the judge.....or even an attorney to get them to accept this type of case.

Contact the police if you can substantiate your claim. That's theft by deception and fraud.
