I bought a mac 2 weeks ago, with a warranty and everything from the Apple store, here in Los Angeles, and I've been experience weird sounds with my MacBook Pro. I mean it just isn't the usual fan sounds, it's like really big and stuff. Louder than usual. So I call AppleCare at least 5 times already, sent it over 2 times at least, and they said that they couldn't fix it. What's up with that? They said that weird sounds didn't qualify as a replacement, and if I really can't stand, I should buy a new one. What should I do? This doesn't seem right to me. What do you suggest I do?

I'm NOT rejoicing over your grief, but if I was a mean person, I'd post your message all over the place for all the Apple fanatics to see. Apple isn't the great computer company that they make it out to be.

Anyway, if your laptop is under warranty, then Apple is obliged to fix the problem, although they probably won't do a direct replacement. I guess you'll have to leave your laptop at the shop and get them to fix it there.

In my experience, only 3 things can make weird noises in a laptop, assuming it's not coming from the speakers. The cooling fan, the hard drive and the CD/DVD drive.

Keep calling AppleCare until you get a good answer. Five times a day would be about right. Ask for "Tier two tech support" if you feel that you are not being treated fairly.

Always use the same "Ticket Number", because your problem hasn't been fixed.

Someone will intervene at Apple.

well, if you live in LA, take it to an Apple store. There are plenty of stores there. If you can get the laptop to make the noise while in the store they might be able to help you more. If not, keep calling Apple care and demand to talk to a manager...

2 people with Apple problems? I'm not surprised anymore. AppleCare seems to be giving me the same response. Here's my own question I asked about it: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgdrMll96M1fBxGZ3F3NyZjsy6IX?qid=20070421170429AAB2Wys

I thought Apple was supposed to be a good company. I guess maybe those ads mislead me.

Same thing with me too! AppleCare won't help me! Go look at my profile to see my own question about my iMac problems. Gosh, what's going on with that company?
