Lara is a good batsman and a useful fielder. Sachin is a good batsman, a good fielder and a useful bowler. When it comes to impact in a match overall, between the two, Sachin would come trumps.

Neither of these players are as good as Ponting who is still in his prime. Without doubt, Lara and Tendulkar are past there best and fail to have the same impact they once did.
If I was forced to choose however, I would choose Lara simply because he has played in a poor side and still succeeded individually consistently for many years.

100% Lara..... Sachin seldom performs when the team is in trouble and needs an "experienced" player like him to perform...
