my recommendation would be to not order dominos. the quality of their pizzas is extremely low. what you are paying isnt a tip. it's an additional charge. if you feel obligated to tip, that's your choice. and you do not have to tip. regardless of what some people consider a social obligation. personally i feel it is not my responsibility to make up for an employers low wages by tipping. i would tip for exceptional service or friendly service and most likely for sit down restaurant. for deliveries as far as i'm concerned the total price and delivery charge is cost of doing business, if they're not making enough money they can raise their prices. if they dont want to compete with other pizza places that deliver they will lose business. i believe these drivers should be paid better wages but the way it is, employers can pay what they can get away with because in many places it's what you call an employers job market. more ppl willing to take what they can get, so the employer can pay less and still get things done. of course with that situation; the lower the wages the more desperate and incompetent the employee. oh well.
and when i was a kid i had 2 papers routes i delivered to many ppl and never expected tips i was happy to get them but i didnt expect to get them and i delivered the paper 6 days a week and would follow all requests and collect every month. usual tip was 1.25 and that was for the entire month. as far as i'm concerned drivers can either be happy with their wages or find another job. i'm tired of ppl trying to put the obligation on me when it is the employer that should be feeling the pressure to pay fair wages and not put any burden on me the customer. like the fat cat owner cant be bothered to increase their employees wages.

You should give the delivery person a tip. Gas is about $3.00 per gallon, and it likely took at least that to bring your pizza. the $1.50 is a charge that Domino's charges, and the driver probably gets nothing out of that. I can't believe anyone would think that $1.50 would be enough of a tip for a pizza delivery, anyway. And, the drivers should not be penalized for Domino's (or any other pizza place, for that matter) poor pay structure. Many times, people who get tips are paid below minimum wage, and the tips make up the difference. Would you risk getting shot or car-jacked, delivering pizzas, for someone who doesn't think your effort is worth $1.50?

No, a delivery charge is NOT a tip. A tip is separate from the order and the charges it contains. A tip is for the person making the delivery or for performing a service. Even when I pick up my order, I always give the folks behind the counter a tip for their service.

No that does not include a tip. It is just a fee that delivery places tack on to help cover the gas the driver uses etc. but you should give the guy or gal a tip when they get there otherwise they won't make much tonight and probably mark you down as a non tipper

No, that does not include a tip. I would tip at least three dollars extra. The delivery charge goes to Domino's.

I always pay a tip to the delivery man. If I am paying with a credit, debit card or check, I will either dig up at least $2 or add it on a check or something.

The $1.50 pays for the cost to deliver the pizza to you.
What you choose to tip the driver is up to you, based on how well (or awful) the speed and service is. If you get your pizza fast and the driver is friendly (and if they didn't screw up the order), it's nice to give the driver a tip.

No, that's not the tip. They started charging for delivery a few years ago.
You can still tip on top of that extra fee if you like. It's up to you.
