Ive never seriously considered this happening before....have you? What would you take out of your house? I took my kids, thats all I could decide on!

I have had to leave my home because of hurricanes.The only thing you can do is to have a plan.Get a small fireproof safe for important papers andfav photoes.You did the right thing"SAVE THE KIDS"Everything else in a moments notice does not matter.Your lives are not replacable.YOU DID GREAT GIRL!!:D

Yes, I have had a similar experience. I took my kids, cats, and photos. Everything else is replaceable. The thing that upset me the most to leave is the dining room table my grandfather made for my mother when I was 7. He died in 1995.

2 Cats, 9 photo albums, checkbook & cash, sentimental jewelry pieces all stored in a purse ready to go.

I live in tornado country so we seek shelter often. I take kids, dogs, parrots, my purse and photo albums.

well, after all the people and pets were out i`d probably go for my file cabinet and get birth records and definitely my purse (with my drivers license etc.)

Kid, cat, pictures, and grandmas urn! (Luckily the pictures and urn in same room)
