I once was in the middle of a electrical storm . I was two states
away and the storm was going in the same direction as I was.
It was scarier than a blizzard or thunderstorm.
I couldn't wait to get home.

I have driven in all different kinds of storms, when you drive an 18 wheeler you have no choice, Thunder & Lightning storms, snow storms, pea soup fog * hate that the most, not affraid of the fog, just of what might be hiding in the fog with no tail lights*, freezing rain storms, ice pellet storms, raining like a cow p p ping on a flat rock storms... etc, biggest fear is what the other folks are gonna do under what ever the conditions might be....

Thunderstorms and snow storms.

It's tough if it's traveling the same direction you are. You can't wait it out since your car travels faster than the storm. That's about the only reason I'll keep driving in a storm.

I drove in a hurricane once. I was the only car on the interstate, and I had my 10 year old daughter with me. I knew the hurricane was coming, but the first winds were stronger than I had thought they would be. I drove from Lakeland FL to Daytona Beach, then stopped to get a room. I didn't know until the next morning just how bad the storm was, but I knew it was awful.

I was performing a show in davis and by the last show was done and we were finished gassing about it was about 1 am.

they offered overnight accomodations, but I remarked I was 52 minutes from home and I'd like to try and get there.

After being 15 minutes driving it began to rain. Five minutes, it opened up and was a deluge to the point were I could see NO LIGHTS on the road. i couldn't even see the cat's eyes on the road to know what lane I was in. I couldn't pull off, as i didn't know where the shoulder was and it would be stupid just to stop on the freeway.

I put up the brights, turned on my emergency lights, reduced my speed to 30, rolled down the window and stuck my head out in a vain attempt to see better. I was soaked by the buckets of rain.

I used the bumps to keep myself in the lane, but I knew if taillights loomed in front of me, i would crash into them.

This went on for 20 minutes. Then, it stopped. Dead. I was able to discern parts of the road as things cleared up.

I then realized that I was the ONLY one on the road and didn't see another car until I got close to Cordelia

YES! I went down to Wilmington NC with a friend from college. First night there, we're driving back from dinner, and it started as just out of control lighning. Then the sky just opened up and poured! Raining buckets was an understatement!! We couldn't see a damned thing, and we were freaking out, cuz neither of us knew the area and we spent a good hunk of the day drving with a map -so we coasted, slowly. We finally got to the hotel safely, flipped on the news, and that's when we found that there was a tornado warning in the area!

I was driving to San Diego last year right.... I was going uphill and going through the mountains where the gusts of wind are really powerful. Well I was about 4,000 feet above sea level and I couldnt see 5 feet in front of the car because of the clouds and then it was pouring really bad and the wind was directing the rain straight to the windshield. Also the 50 mph wind gusts were shaking the car constantly. I made it to San Diego tho.

I have driven in a hurricane, but the worse storm to drive in is my husbands storm fury when he can't listen to Grave or System of a Down on a long trip and is stuck listening to the Backyardigans or Dora's Fiesta dance mix (kids music).

Thunder storm, electrical storm, blizzard with white out conditions... hail storms, wind storms. Pretty much every storm I can think of except a tornado, luckily.

I have, it was a severe thunderstorm many times. One time I heard the tornados sirens going off. and I drove past a store a cart was flying in the air, that scared the hell out of me. Living in the midwest there are many "storm stories"
