These are exceptionally good times for an 8th grader.
Go out for Cross Country in the Fall. You have some talent and a promising future. Don't blow it. To be the best you have to
persevere. I've seen others as good as you not pursue running
in their H.S. years because of other interests; jobs, cars, peer pressure ,etc.
You have an excellent start in athletics. Good luck.

I am assuming you are a boy. I am an official and see meets every week. There is an 8th grade girl here that ran 2:22, 800, and 5:06 mile. Her split for 400 in the 800 was 1:06. She is a real 8th grader, she has not failed and is not older than the others. My point is no matter how fast you are there is someone, somewhere who is faster, so keep training because they are training.

Some people can't ever give anyone a fair shake. The mile time is excellent for an 8th grader. I was told that I was an exceptional runner, in 87-88 and my mile was 5:18, so you are on the right track. Keep training and good things will come.

Well your times are pretty good. In fact, they are outstanding. Most 8th graders are able to run the mile in about 5:30 to 6:00 and even that is pretty good. A good 800 m time is any where from 2:30 to 3:00 so you did exeptional on that race too. I woulld tell you that you should continue track in high school! Keep working and I'm sure you would be a good high school athlete!!! :))

That is good, especially since you're guys and they take a lot longer to get good, wheras young girls can start right off running amazing. Just the other day I saw a 4:40 mile from an 8th grader, so your not the best ever but keep working and you'll get down there.

I am also in grade eight, but i just started track this year. I won my first 2 mile race in a time of 10:37. Those times you posted are pretty good, but you should keep practising more.

Wow. Your mile time is insane for an 8th grader.
I know juniors in high school who are just starting to run a 1600 at 5 minutes.
Very impressive..
