I bought a 100W replacement daylight CFL bulb:
(light output 1500 lumens, energy used 23 watts; the back says for use with 120 volts 60 hz circuits)
I'd like to use it in my home lamp (which says on the lamp, use MAX 60 watt, 120 volt, type A bulb).
But since the actual output of the flourescent I bought is 23 watts, can I use it in the 60 watt lamp, or is it going to be a problem since it is a 100W replacement bulb?

Yes you can. The light fixture is limited in the amount of current and heat it can handle; both of which are determined by the actual wattage used by the bulb. "100W replacement" just means that the 23W CFL gives as much light as a 100W incandescent, but the fixture isn't affected by light.

You can still use it but do not go above 60W CFL . It is an energy replacement bulb that puts out less heat and the same amount or more light. They will also help to lower your power bill, I have replaced almost all of mine with them and my power bill dropped about $40.

Yes, if the fixture does not have a variable dimmer. The CFL will run cooler, use less electricity, save you money and cause less pollution than a comparable incandescent lamp. It also reduces the nuisance of changing lamps, since they generally last much longer than incandescents.
[The problem with a dimmer is that it could cause the lamp to overheat or burn out.]

what you have bought is only 23 watts. it consumes only 23 watts of energy. But it gives equalant to 100 watts of lumens.
as a 100 watts regullar bulb gives 1500 lumens. their is nothing wrong

It's commonly used as character names in video games. I've had a Jezebel or two on WoW or SWTOR :P
