DON'T take anything orally to get it going....no matter what you hear. Most of those things just cause stomach/intestinal cramps that will lead to diarehea and you DON'T want that going on while trying to push a baby out!! (lol, indeed)
It will happen....if it doesn't your doctor will induce you in a week or so. This happened to me, too....and I was just so ready for it to be over. But think of it this way....your child knows they are in a good place and they just want to hang out for a bit more before making the big move. Enjoy this time.....you have the baby all to yourself right now and you are the only one that gets to experience the pregnancy (for good or bad). That, in itself, is a miracle all your own!!
Continue walking, having sex, taking warm baths. But don't take anything orally.....that is my advice!!

It sounds like you have a stubburn baby. (lol) Just look at your sitation like this. You are 40 weeks along so your doctor is either going to induce you any time or the baby is coming. I know how uncomfortable you are. I have been there twice. The time is almost up and you will be able to hold your little bundle of joy. Congratulations!

STRESS, that worked for me. seriously though. Your due date is actually your due month, you are due anywhere from 2 weeks before and two weeks after your due date. If you don't want to wait ask your doctor, there are other ways to attempt to start labor. There is a gel that the doctors were going to give my sister to help her go into labor more naturally than inducing her but she ended up going into labor before she got it. Depending on the hospital you go to they will induce you if you ask or demand.

I grew up ingesting western nutrition yet moved to New Zealand the place there's a extensive Asian inhabitants and Sushi, sashimi and different eastern delights are certainly available.i'm getting greater excited approximately eastern nutrition because of the fact it continues to be a novelty to me. I cant elect! Its like asking if i could fairly have 5 ten greenback notes or ten 5 greenback notes, the two way I basically elect 50 money :o)

Sometimes the dr's can be off by a week or two. You could just be 38 weeks. I would call and ask for the membranes to be stripped.
GL let us know what happens!

I dont' know if you will be seeing your doctor any time soon but my doctor stripped my membranes and 2 days later my water was leaking and I had to be induced. Good Luck and enjoy the sleep while you can.

The suggestion of having your membranes stripped is a good one-- has to be done by your Ob-Gyn though...
How about Cod Liver Oil, or an enema?
Or nipple stimulation?
Have you tried these things?
