No. You are paying for the name. There are many other sunglasses that work just as well and some that are even better and look better for alot cheaper. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars on something that you could buy somewhere else just with a different name for under 20.00? Alot of sunglasses are made in the same factories as these designer ones. Can you imagine the other ways you could spend that money? You could feed hungry people, buy new clothes, etc...[:
When you break or lose them, your not going to be crying if you spent hundreds on them, but if you only spent a couple of dollars, you will be able to get them replaced. Try going to flea markets, they have vintage glasses that may look designer but are not and look more authentic...

not to give you a wishy washy answer, but that entirely depends on the buyer. I have always worn maui jim sunglasses that cost between $299 - 399. I take very good care of them, always put them in their case when not wearing them. get them re-fitted at lens crafters every few months, etc. I have a bunch of "fashion cheap sunglasses" that I have bought over the years but I always wear my maui jims. The only time I don't wear them really is when I go snow skiing. I have a special pair of revos that bought just for skiing that are the wrap around style. I prefer glasses lenses to plastic as well, as they don't break or scratch as often.
My friend on the other hand, loses her sunglasses left and right. breaks them. etc.
So I would say to you, if you are going to take care of them properly, go for it.

Your paying for the name you get on the side of them, not the effectiveness. Most likely you will find sunglasses which have a better design and do a better job of actually blocking the sun...plus my dad bought some and got stolen a week later.

Depends, if their super trendy I wouldn't get them because they'll be out of style soon. I've never bought a pair of expensive sunglasses, there are so many great ones for under$100

Hell no, don't buy it. I've never owned a pair of sunglasses that were worth over $25.
Spend your money on something more valuable.

The more money you pay for a pair of sunglasses, the faster you will lose them or have them stolen. I say go for the cheap fun ones!!
