Is it possible to hook up a television as an extended desktop just as a computer monitor?

If your MAC has an S-video out connector, and your TV has an s-video connector too, you could, but the TV picture sucks due to low resolution.

It also wouldn't "extend the desktop", it would only show the same image as your monitor.
