Hi,

I started off sorta the same way on the computer games and creating game maps. I mistakenly decided that I wanted to be a programmer in ninth grade, and chose Comp. Sci as a major in College. Halfway through college, I realized I was really more interested in finance and business.

What games do you like? Looking back, if I had decided my career based on the games I liked (Capitalism, Railroad Tycoon, SimTower), rather than the fact that I liked computer games, I would have been very happy. That said, if Halo or Quake is your favorite game, you might not want to base your decision on that.

With the little I have to go on, I'd point you in the direction of engineering if you do well in math. (You don't have to enjoy it at this point- you just have to be good at it.) If you enjoy designing real-life stuff, like buildings, that may be another route.

If you find yourself looking for ways to make money by solving problems, you may want to start thinking about a career in finance or accounting.

Anything in the medical field. That's where all the money is going. You can certainly go into gaming design, however it is insanely competitive and the way technology is going, games will be ripped and copied and not as lucrative as it once was. Sort of like the music industry. Musicians really make most of their money by merchandising and touring. Their records really don't make a whole lot for them anymore because after the label gets paid and the manager/agent ...there's like pennies left. Anyway, people are always getting sick, and if you can get past the blood and guts, Physician's Assistant is the best by far. You get paid very well (nearly as much as a doctor) but you don't have to carry malpractice insurace like an M.D. does. The M.D.'s office you work for will carry that...just like they do for the nurses...but P.A.'s get paid WAY more. Or you can be an IT (information technology) guy for a hospital. You know, fix programing problems with their intranet computers. Or Web master, however, those are becoming a fry cook job now, dime a dozen so to speak.

These are great skills and interests. If you love it, then maybe you could contact companies like Pixar and see if they have some sort of internship program. Then you could see what it is like to work at this full time.
