Wow ok then, I'm going to give you a REAL answer ok?
First of all, Macs do not suck. They are very good computers.
1. The operating system (Mac OS X) is extremely stable and reliable. You can run Windows on any new Mac. This completely blows away any other answers on here that say Macs can't run any programs. They can, and always will.
2. There are many programs available for download on Apple's website specifically for the Mac. Many are free.
3. The tech support is incredible. They speak English so you can actually understand them. They'll help you learn how to use a Mac....for free.
4. Macs are not as easily prone to viruses as PC's. Yes, Macs CAN get viruses, it's just that nobody wants to target the Mac community because we are so small.
5. You get the iLife Suite. iLife is a set of amazing programs that are so easy to learn.
6. I've had 114 applications open on my MacBook Pro and it didn't crash. That's just to show you how reliable these things are. I could have opened more if I wanted too.
7. Safari is a great web browser for it's age. It's only about 4-5 years old and it has some great features. Many being some that Microsoft added to IE 7. I've never had a problem loading any page on Safari.
8. Macs are expensive, BUT If you look at the specs on a Mac and compare it with it's PC counterpart, you will see that the Mac is actually a pretty good deal. The only reason why Macs are a little bit more expensive than PC's is because Apple doesn't skimp on hardware.
9. What this guy says:
"SO let's see what you would MISS if you bought a MAC.
- millions of GAMES
- The real Microsoft Office and it's components, parts and connectivity.
- QuickBooks with Payroll
- How a real website looks. Safari is BOGUS
When you get a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium; then you have something for the future. That is where real computers is going. Yes, it might be a bit buggy now, but go for it. You probably should get 1GB of RAM, or maybe 2GB."
Yeah, the whole "Macs can run Windows" thing really blows this one out of the water....
Also the statement in the bottom paragraph that says, "When you get a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium; then you have something for the future. That is where real computers is going." is not true. Mac OS X already has many of the features of Windows Vista way before Vista even hit store shelves. Maybe a little grammar lesson is in order for this guy too, huh? Oh, and news flash, Vista will ALWAYS be buggy, just like Windows XP.
Get a Mac. They're so much more reliable and I can assure you that you will be happy with this purchase. In fact, I PROMISE you. Hope this helped and good luck! Feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

Media and the fact that they don't really get viruses are a plus but I'll give you some cons. They're way too expensive and you can get a comparable laptop that runs on windows for far cheaper (or better for the same price). You can run a lot of those applications on windows. There are some compatibility issues with macs that aren't going to be fixed (unlike windows vista)
Don't think that I'm some Window's lover because I'm not. Vista is pissing me off right now but I see it has the same potential XP had. It just shouldn't have came out yet. Actually I'm probably going to switch to using primarily linux on my new computer. But for you I'd suggest getting a regular laptop because of the ridiculously high price on Macs.

I'll be happy to help you choose MAC eyeshadows. Since you didn't provide your skin, hair, or eye color, I will give you suggestions that will suit all skin colors. You should get two colors right off the bat: a highlight and also a contouring color - after you get those out of the way, you can get almost any color to go in between. For highlight colors, you want something lighter than your skin color and something either matte or velvet. Rice Paper is a nude neutral color that can be applied under your brow bone for someone who has a fairly light to deep complexion. Gesso is a vivid white color that can be used very lightly to add a highlight. For light skin, my all time favorite color of eyeshadow (as a highlight) is Brule. Next, you will want to choose a contour color that will add depth to your eyes. Pick a brown, any brown - but one that's not too dark. Choose a matte brown because it'll look more natural. I'd go with Cork if you have light skin to medium skin, or Espresso for deep skintones. Now....here's the fun part! Choosing a color to play with. Do you like something shimmery? Or something subtle and quiet? If you want something that has a POP to it...pick out Goldmine, Paradisco, or Hepcat. If you want something quiet and sweet, choose Haux, Digit, or Sable. Now for application: apply the highlight color under your brow bone and blend it slightly downward. Using a tapered brush, apply the contour color in your crease. And last, sweep the fun color all over your lid and up to the crease. Lightly blend the crease color and the fun color together. Have fun! :)

You can run Windows on a Mac. You can run Mac OS on a Windows PC... IF you are an expert at it. With a Mac you can run all the Mac hardware AND all the Windows/Vista software. If you are doing audio or video work, Mac is "it" for the software, and for the stability of the operating system. Also, right now, Mac desktops are the only computers I am aware of with "eight core" processors - they are FAST... if you need that.

A lot of mac users are very fanatic about their computers-they really are that nice-I own 7 of them-but they are not for everyone. They are smoother, more stable, and easier to use-especially for music and video. If you are into gaming, mac is not the thing. The new macs can have mac and windows on them at the same time using parrells software, and that workls very well.

You should try to use one of the Mac machines first before buying one. Because Mac is very different to a Microsoft windows PC.
I have used a PC for a long time and when i tried to use Mac, it was difficult to navigate around.
And there arent as many programs and software available for Mac as for a PC.
In terms of functionality, i prefer Windows based PC over Mac
Good luck with your findings

I hate to say it, but macs suck.
There are nothing cool about Macs. Do you like to play games? Can't do it on a Mac. Do you like downloading a lot of programs? Yeah, good luck finding any for a Mac. Do you like programming? Guess what, Apple doesn't have anything like Visual Studio Express.
And about Mac's "ability for media"...WTF? The last time I checked, you can edit videos on a PC with Movie Maker. You can watch videos on a PC with Media Player. You can edit and organize photos, too.
The point is...Mac is crap, don't waste your money.
