I believe that vaccines caused autism in my children. I am writing a pursuasive essay on this and need a strong thesis statement

If you believe this, I guess you haven't read the numerous studies that have failed to find a link between vaccines and autism. The scientists who initially researched this have all but abandoned this hypothesis because thimerosal has been removed (2001) and yet rates continue to increase. Your kids are autistic-big deal. Trying to pin it on someone is irresponsible and does nothing to help your children.

The manditory childhood vaccines ARE Thimerosal (mercury) free!!! They stopped adding that preservative in 2001 & the old batches expired in early 2003. The flu vaccine is the only childhood vaccine that has thimerisol & even there, you can get the thimerisol free version if you ask. If vaccinations are the trigger for the children genetically prone to autism, it is something other than thimerosal.

Tell me more about your children. My brother had 4 kids - 2 with autism.

I would suggest pooling your information first, then finding the common thread. But make it broad and then support it.

What do you suggest be done about it? Maybe your thesis should be "thimerosal should be banned from all vaccines because it causes autism in sensitive patients."

There's a lot of literature on this already. there's actually kind of a sweet internet comic about a kid with autism caused by mercury poisoning . It's called "the chelation kid" and it's kind of a graphic persuasive essay in itself. You might look at it for inspiration. I've provided a link to it below.
