Funny, I read through most of the answers you got. And not a one speaks the real truth. The truth is (now pay attention kids) that there is no difference between the two. Both are selfserving and liars. They keep pointing fingers at one another to keep us from seeing that they are not doing their jobs. They say anything that they think we want to hear. Look at the last military spending bill. If the parties wanted to attach a dead line to giving the go ahead on the bill. Fine attach the wording to read so, but to attach a BILLION dollars in pork to the bill. Just showed what had to be done to buy votes. On both sides. Yet we did not hold their feet to the fire for that one. Neither did the media, alot of help they are.........''We the people " need to start paying better attention to both parties. Let them know that this BS needs to stop or they will be gone.

Republicans (most Conservative) try to value somewhat "traditions" of America, and turn down anything that goes against those "traditions.

Democrats (mostly Liberal) try to value culture and the lives of people. They want a free America where you live your lives my your own morals, your own actions, etc.

Republicans traditionally support lower taxes, a strong military, and a weaker central government. "The party generally supports lower taxes and limited government in some economic areas, while preferring government intervention in others" (example: moral issues like abortion and same sex marriage). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_%28United_States%29#Current_ideology

Democrats traditionally support education, social programs, and cleaning up the environment. "The party has favored farmers, laborers, labor unions, and religious and ethnic minorities; it has opposed unregulated business and finance, and favored progressive income taxes. The party advocates civil liberties, social freedoms, equal rights, equal opportunity, fiscal responsibility, and a free enterprise system tempered by government intervention" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_%28United_States%29#Ideology_and_voter_base

Democrats are on the bullet-train to socialism, Republicans are taking the horse n buggy.
Either way, America's republic has been hijacked by the will of the masses...and so the freedom of the sheep goes by the wayside thanks to the votes of the wolves.
