This is the particular kind of tab where it tells you what fret and string to place your fingers and it will say
something like G------2/3----- and I dont know what its talking about.

It refers to "polychords", which simply means two chords played simultaneously. You play one "on top of the other", meaning one is played in a different location than the other - the one on the top of the fraction is usually played in a higher position or played as higher notes.

get a beginner book at your local music store..they usually have the best there is to offer at a cheap price of like $10-$15..that is, if you're serious about really learning...tab off the internet- go to www.ultimate-guitar.com it has everything!!! good luck and don't give up!!!
